The Beltico Group, renowned for the successful venture Praia D'el Rey Golf & Beach Resort, presented their plans for the future luxury golf resort of "Falésia d'El Rey"at the Real Estate Fair in Lisbon (SIL) held between 22 and 26 October.

Obidos a brand of quality and prestige

Óbidos has teamed up with five tourism investors to create an association to manage and promote the brand 'Óbidos' in international markets. The council announced in October that Óbidos is a brand in Portugal that people associate with quality, prestige, and the exceptional; as in the historical center, or innovative events. Now there are more media to project it abroad.

Golf Course at Bom Sucesso, Silver Coast, completed.

The golf course at Bom Sucesso is a member of IAGTO (International
Association of Golf Tour Operators), which means high standards
of quality. It was opened with a public presentation on
September 27th 2008 (although actually in use since August).

Located on Portugal's Silver Coast, 80km from Lisbon, Quintas de
Óbidos is a new and exclusive development incorporating 79

Hi, I live on "Perola" and nearly 3 years after the pictures in this posting
nothing much has changed here. If anything disappointed owners
as the site is still not finished or maintained, the communal
pool is often closed as not useable as it is usually green and
probably a health risk. Hopefully, as we hear a new investor is
coming in, things can only get better.

The number eight is said to be the luckiest number, or at least very lucky, according to the Chinese - which is why they loved the idea of the Olympics opening today on the 08/08/2008. In the case of property investors in the "Oeste" Region here in the heart of the Silver Coast, the number 8 turned out to be a very fortunate number indeed.

30 minutes on the A8 from Lisbon through the mountains to the "Oeste"

Most are agreed that without the opening of the A8, with the section opening up the route to Obidos, the Lagoon and the beaches around Caldas da Rainha completed in 1998 the "Oeste" would still be relatively undiscovered. In the ten years since 1998 at least 16 major tourism projects are happening at least in part because of the A8.

If you read the comments of those connected with tourism in the local media, including just this week the engineer responsible for the enterprise Bom Sucesso, the A8 was critical to both the planning and the success of such investments. This a view confirmed by António Carneiro president of Região de Turismo do Oeste who has been a prime mover in many of these projects in recent years.

Where is best to invest? The heart of the Silver Coast in the "Oeste" region or the Lisbon Golf Coast? To be in all three is best, so be sure to buy your property in the "Oeste", where four billion Euros is being invested in 17 new resorts which it is planned will be marketed as part of the newly lauched and expanded Lisbon Golf Coast.

The "Oeste Region" which forms the heart of the Silver Coast is undergoing so much radical change and investment that by 2015 the number of developed resorts and golfing complexes will jump from only one in 1997, to seventeen or more.

Moinhos da Costa is an established condominium resort with pools
and tennis on a hill above the Obidos Lagoon and the beautiful
beach at Foz do Arelho.

shown as Foz Gronho (an earlier name) on many maps.

There has been a small but growing exclusive community of
private villas at Bom Sucesso Beach for at least twenty years.
Most of these properties are owned by Portuguese as summer beach
homes, and some plots are held as long term investments. Those
with beach views being more highly prized come on to the market
rarely.

Perola da Lagoa Country Club is a property and land investment
project promoted by London Investments Ltd, their real estate
promotion web site describes it as "a developing complex".

The English translation of the name is "Pearl of the Lagoon",
but perhaps this pearl is developing more slowly than at least
one visitor hoped. The pictures above and below, from a web site
subtitled "From Different Angle", seem to sum up the feelings
of someone posting his pictures taken in 2006.

specifically area near Lourinha.

I am visiting the area on Sunday 20th July to view a plot that
an English developer is constructing a 4 bed-villa on. I need to
make sure I am able to get a good rental return when the villa
is completed next May... Any advice please? I would like some
type of guaranteed rental but I haven't found any companies that
offer this..

Grande Hotel Da Curia Golf And Spa

The Grande Hotel da Curia which dates from 1889 has its own golf
club. The Curia Golf is a 9-hole 2500-meter executive course,
featuring three artificial lakes.

This nine hole course at the northern extreme of the Silver
Coast, is not as well known as the larger property investment
resorts in the centre of the Silver Coast. The golf course was
founded in 2004. The architect was Jorge Santana da Silva.
Planning is in course to extend the present nine holes to
eighteen.

Golden Eagle Golf Resort, Quinta do Brincal,
E.N. 1, Km 63/64, Asseiceira, 2040-481 Rio Maior

Located near Rio Maior, about 60 kilometers north of Lisbon,
Golden Eagle Golf resort, was opened in 1994 but restricted to
members and their guests. Since August 1997 it has been open to
visitors.

The project has plans for two hotels, a congress centre and real
estate/properties. They don't seem to be selling property on the
Silver Coast very effectively as their web site doesn't work at
all unless you run the insecure flash technology.

Rio Maior being around twenty miles inland doesn't represent
a great "coastal" investment anyway, but property away
from the coast is a lot less expensive and there are many
Rio Maior estate agents selling property near the
Golden Eagle Golf resort.
