Apartment Holiday, excellent service, perfect location

perfect and the beach restaurants are open all year

As regular visitors to Portugal in the spring we've been renting
apartment Cristina at least once a year for 6 years now, as we like
it so much and there is so much to see in the area.

The apartment is lovely, nicely furnished and equipped. The location
is very tranquil, and especially so in the off-peak periods we
usually prefer. Even in the spring we enjoy our breakfast on the
terrace, with such a magnificent view.

The terrace is south facing overlooking the garden and gets the sun
all day long. The lagoon is so close that you could almost throw a
stone to it, and the gorgeous beaches at Foz are only a little
further. We find the lagoon beach perfect for swimming as you get the
calmer waters. But if you prefer big rollers the atlantic beach is
for you.

Unlike many resorts the beach restaurants are open all year round and
don't close for the winter. The fishing village of Foz do Arelho is
very quiet, but it has a post office, supermarket and bank, and most
important the property management office where we've always found
Andreia to be so helpful.

It's about 10 minutes drive to Caldas da Rainha, a market town with
major hypermarkets, and lovely open fruit market, and a traditional
fish market.

We recommend the apartment for mature couples, young romantic
couples, and small families (up to 6 persons).

Thanks Karen and Patrick,

It was great to see you back again this year.

On the subject of the markets in Caldas da Rainha, there is also the
massive Monday market which is easily found by going up the hill from
the fruit market, passing the fish market on your left, and the
hospital on your right.

The Monday market, as it's name suggests, is every Monday, and from
memory it's even bigger on the last Monday of the month. No matter
though, because whenever you go you'll find the usual clothing,
leather goods, and housewear common to markets. There are loads of
footwear stalls, and everything from tractors to fruit trees, and
house plants to chickens and ducks.

Thanks for writing the review for us. As regulars to our apartment in
Foz for six years and visitors to Caldas for much longer, I figured
it would be good to ask you to send one in, as none of our guests
know the area any better than you.

Best regards,
David
